Some examples illustrate this particularly well: instead of walking we can also travel by rail, car or aeroplane and thanks to mobile phones we can telephone from anywhere and everywhere. In order to continue to keep pace with technical progress however, we still need engineers. Further to the German website.

Living in Chur

Welcome to the Alpine city

Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland (approx. 3000 BC) with around 36,000 inhabitants. Students looking for sport activities will find everything they could wish for in Chur or its local surroundings.

Chur is the capital city of the Canton Grisons and is the largest holiday region in Switzerland. Holiday resorts famous throughout the world such as Arosa, Davos, Flims/Laax and St. Moritz are easily accessible from Chur. Hourly train connections transport passengers from Chur to Zurich, St. Gallen, and destinations throughout the Canton Grisons.

  • The old town of Chur. The Bishop’s residence, cathedral, Arcasplatz, St. Martin’s Church. A tour through the picturesque streets of Chur is well worth while.
  • Chur is the only city in Switzerland to have its own summer and winter sport resort: Brambrüesch.
  • Chur is the starting point for visiting UNESCO heritage sites with the Rhaetian Railways, such as the Albula pass, the Bernina Bahn and the Glacier Express.
  • Culture in Chur. The “long Saturday”, dance and theater festivals, open-air cinema, carnival, and the Christmas market are just some of the cultural events Chur has to offer.
