Principles for Responsible Management Education

The Principles for Responsible Management Education PRME are part of an initiative of the UN Global Compact Office and were established in 2007. The six principles formulated therein serve as guidelines for the signatory teaching and research institutions, which are involved in the training of future managers. These guidelines help them with the conception, implementation and further development of socially and environmentally responsible qualifications. As the first Swiss public university to do so, HTW Chur joined this UN initiative in 2009.

PRME Regionalgruppe DACH

 

Following a preparatory period of two years and on the joint initiative of the Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) and HTW Chur, the PRME Regional Chapter DACH was established in February 2014. Twelve PRME signatories from German-speaking areas answered the call to co-found the PRME community’s first official regional chapter.

After several months of preliminary consultations and cooperation with the PRME secretariat of the UN Global Compact Office in New York, the representatives from HTW Chur, the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) and the Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences officially implemented the 'Signatory Act UN PRME Regional Chapter DACH'.

PRME Champions Group


As one of a total of 32 representatives from 600 universities around the world, HTW Chur was added to the PRME Champions Group in 2014 as Switzerland’s sole member. As one of the first universities to do so, HTW Chur enthusiastically rose to the challenge of championing training in the area of sustainable development. Its status as a member of the PRME Champions Group is an expression of this endeavour. Through its cooperation with the international PRME community’s most progressive business schools, HTW Chur is contributing to driving this unique initiative forward to the next development phase.
